about

From the forthcoming remix album, "A Small Blue Car - Re-made/Re-modelled" (Eamon The Destroyer) (BS058)

It's good - sort of tasteful - but in the best sense of the word. Reminiscent of many things but also "Nothing Like Anything". Feels like a very original artist in that sense - even though he's obviously playing with Moroccone sounds... A mysterious character, Eamon The Destroyer... Bearsuit Records - really worth checking out. There's some really great music on there...

The trip begins with Japan’s Like This Parade applying their glitchy hiccups to ‘Nothing Like Anything,’ which Senji Niban revisits in a more expansive, dreamy take via his preferred Renoise workstation, both retaining the narrative structure of the story/song...

The reimaginations of the original songs certainly capture their spirit and essence, from the stop/start glitchy gloopiness of the wandering Like this Parade remix of ‘Nothing Like Anything’ to the longer, more abstract reworkings,.. An absolute triumph!
[Aural Aggravation]

The soft, if effervescent, reframing of the fabulous “Nothing Like Anything” by Like This Parade caresses the listener’s ears, its pseudo-orchestral treatment by Senji Niban will stress how impeccably the coherence of “A Small Blue Car” is preserved here. Here’s a vehicle that’s able to run in every make, in every guise and with every trim: an all-terrain type of transport to carry passengers beyond the pale.

That's Eamon The Destroyer from Bearsuit Records whose tunes we play on this show. Their latest release a remix of Bearsuit artist, Eamon The Destroyer's debut album, “A Small Blue Car” - and that's the Senji Niban remix of “Nothing Like Anything”

This opens with the gentle ambient tones of Nothing Like Anything (Reframe) that's been remixed by Like This Parade who make it into a slight gentle caress about the joy of holding your babies feet In your hand. Nothing Like Anything is re-mixed by Senji Niban into a Chinese Opera goes ambient weird out with a very steady central core that seems quite passive. If this is like anything, it's the Strings Of Consciousness whose leader is name checked in the liner notes.

The opening track ‘Nothing Like Anything’ [Like This Parade Remix] has a feel of The Beach Boys ‘Cabinessence’ and sounds like it is having its thigh stroked in a sensual way by a slightly out of it Momus. A Small Blue Car… is another overwhelming success of a release taking the experimental and layering it with blankets of alternative pop electronica warmth.
