Various Artists : "The Fall Will Probably Kill You" (BS012 - 2010)

Over the course of fifteen tracks and a fraction over an hour, we're treated to all sorts of avant-garde noodling, from the avant-jazz electronica of Rhizottome to the warped world / glitchtronica of Whizz Kid: if you're looking for something far beyond the realms of the ordinary, this compilation comes highly recommended. Yes, it's business as usual at Bearsuit, purveyors of brilliantly off-beat and experimental music. they’ve done it again, releasing another album of consistent quality that's wilfully perverse and staunchly uncommercial, and all the better for it.

[and] "Nobody Plays Baseball Here" by Harold Nono & Hidekazu Wakabayashi. Both of those splendid tracks you can find on a compilation called "The Fall Will Probably Kill You" - and splendid it is too!

Moments of great individualism and skewed pop brilliance arrive in the form of Belgium/Scotland partnership Whizz Kid, Scotland’s Forofo. Bearsuit have assembled a roster of talent who want to do something different. In these times of imitations and revivals, they should be applauded for that.

Il sampler si mantiene su standard molto buoni: si va dal folk della traccia di apertura di Alyosha Het ai serialismi di Rhizottome, lo-fi pop delirante al minimalismo giocattoloso di Whizz Kid, dalle strane composizioni di Forofo alle varie collaborazioni fra elettronica e melodie ubriache di PNDC e poi gli artisti già citati ed altri, che come dicevo si mantengono su un buonissimo livello.

Nova kompilacija škotskog Bearsuit Records uz nekoliko već poznatih imena donosi mnogo svježih i relativno nepoznatih izvođača iz oblasti fine eksperimentalne, elektronske, pop, ambijentalne i neo-klasične glazbe. Kompilacija je objavljena 8.X 2010., te je svakako interesantna pogotovo ljubiteljima moderne glazbe koja podjednako provlači pop, eksperimente i neo-klasičnu glazbu. Aduti ove zbirke su svakako francuski dvojac Rhizottome i američki umjetnik Jimmy Rosso.
